Intercom pricing in 2026: seats, Fin outcomes and what a year costs

Intercom charges per seat and then per AI answer. Here is every plan, the Fin outcome price and the add-ons, read from Intercom’s own pages on 9 October 2026, and what a small team pays in a year.

Intercom costs $29 to $132 per seat a month billed annually, or $39 to $139 billed monthly, plus $0.99 each time its AI agent, Fin, resolves a conversation. Three people on Essential pay $1,044 a year before Fin. If Fin resolves 300 conversations a month, the same team pays $4,608. Every figure here is from Intercom’s pricing page, its help centre and its calculator, read on 9 October 2026.

A price test. In October 2026 Intercom was showing some visitors Essential at $19 a seat billed annually ($29 monthly). Its help centre and price table still list $29 and $39, so those are the figures used below.

PlanPer seat, billed yearlyPer seat, monthlyFree lite seatsWhat it adds
Essential$29$390Inbox, Messenger and live chat, Fin, pre-built reports
Advanced$85$9920Custom reports, workflows, team inboxes, round robin
Expert$132$13950Multibrand, custom roles, SLAs

Every person who accepts an invite to your workspace takes a seat, one person per seat, and every seat in a workspace is on the same plan. Lite seats are free seats with limited rights, useful for colleagues who read but rarely reply.

How Fin is charged

Fin is included on every plan, but it is not free: you pay $0.99 per outcome. An outcome is a conversation Fin resolves (the customer confirms the answer helped, or leaves without asking for more) or a handoff you have configured. It is charged at most once per conversation, and you are not charged when Fin hands over to a person because the customer asked for one.

300$297$3,564
1,000$990$11,880
3,000$2,970$35,640

Fin can also be bought on its own for another help desk such as Zendesk, Salesforce, HubSpot or Freshdesk: no seat fees, $0.99 per outcome, with a $49 monthly minimum that includes 50 outcomes (from fin.ai).

What a year of Intercom costs

Seat prices, billed yearly. The middle column assumes Fin resolves 100 conversations a month for each person on the team, which is a modest load once it is switched on.

Running several websites on Intercom

If you run more than one brand or shop, check this before you buy. One Messenger can be installed on several domains on any plan, but it is the same Messenger with the same look. Separate brands, each with its own Messenger and help centre, need Multibrand, which is on Expert at $132 a seat. Three people on Expert is $4,752 a year before Fin.

Discounts that exist

  • A 14-day free trial, no card needed. There is no free plan.
  • Early Stage: from $65 a month in year one (93% off), then 50% off in year two and 25% in year three, with 300 Fin outcomes a month in year one. For new customers that have raised under $10M and have fewer than 15 employees.
  • Yearly billing cuts Essential from $39 to $29 a seat, a quarter off.
  • No nonprofit discount appears on Intercom’s own pages.

How to pay Intercom less

  1. Count seats carefully. Everyone who accepts an invite is billed; people who only read can be lite seats on Advanced or Expert.
  2. Watch Fin outcomes. Set Fin to hand over early on topics where it guesses, and check the outcome count each month.
  3. Pay yearly if you are sure you will stay.
  4. Do not buy Expert just for a second website if one shared Messenger will do.

Or stop paying per seat and per answer

Intercom is a support platform built around an AI agent, and it is good at that. If what you need is live chat that your own people answer, across one shop or several, the per-seat and per-outcome model costs more every time the team or the traffic grows. ReplaChat is live chat you buy once for $299 and run on your own server, with unlimited agents, shops and chats.

Three people, five yearsTotal
Intercom Essential, billed yearly$5,220
Intercom Essential + 300 Fin outcomes a month$23,040
ReplaChat: licence and a small server$949 to $1,145

ReplaChat’s range is without and with the optional $49 a year for updates after the first 12 months. Server counted at about $130 a year.

What you give up. ReplaChat has no AI agent: rules, saved replies and macros make your people fast, but people answer. It does website chat, email and Telegram, not WhatsApp or SMS. And it runs on your own server, about €5–15 a month, unless you have us set it up or host it.
